The name “Mann-o-Salwa” draws inspiration from the Holy Quran referring to a heavenly food that was gifted to Bani Israel in the field of Teeh at the request of Prophet Musa (AS). Allah Almighty mentioned in Holy Quran: “O Children of Israel, We delivered you from your enemy, and We made an appointment with you at the right side of the mount, and We sent down to you Manna and Salwa.” (Holy Quran, 20:80) In Arabic, “Mann” is a kind of sweet that signifies divine sustenance, which is sweeter than honey and whiter than snow whereas Salwa is a kind of a Quail bird that represents nourishment and fulfillment.
Apart from the spiritual connection that forms the foundation of this restaurant, Mann O Salwa is also named in honor of the cherished bond between Dr. Imran Khaled and his beloved wife which embodies love, culinary artistry, and the joy of sharing a meal with those who matter most.
